The Environmental Law Programme (ELP) offers a limited number of internship positions for young professionals or recent university graduates interested in enhancing their knowledge and gaining practical experience in the field of international environmental law and sustainable development.
The ELP welcomes applications from qualified candidates to work for a period of six months on a full-time and unpaid basis at the headquarters of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) in Geneva, Switzerland. Applicants must demonstrate eagerness to learn about international environmental law and have an academic background in related fields.
Interns have the opportunity to make a valuable contribution towards UNITAR’s work and to gain work experience in the areas of international environmental law, sustainable development and project management. Interns are expected to assume a high level of responsibility, along with being highly committed and proactive. Depending on the level of experience, interns will be responsible for core tasks related to the courses administered by the ELP such as assisting in the management of training activities; organizing workshops; preparing reports and publications and managing databases.
